Pitches and submissions should fit into one or several of our themed areas: Arts & Culture, Food & Farm, People, Wild, and the Calendar.
Pitches should be emailed to the most relevant section editor: Arts & Culture, Food & Farm, People, Wild, and the Calendar. If you are uncertain which section is most appropriate, you can email submissions to, and we will forward to the section editor.
Submissions are published at the discretion of the editorial board.
Please put the subject and format of your submission in your email subject line (i.e. photo essay: UV swimming holes.)​​​​​​​
Junction Magazine uses the Chicago Manual of Style.
Submissions should be sent in Word or Google Doc format. Photos should be JPEG or PNG, with a maximum size of 1024 x 768 pixels at 72 dpi.
Contributors will need to disclose any conflicts of interest, and provide own fact-checking, with sources. Contributors are responsible for securing rights and permissions for photographs, as applicable.
Contributors retain copyright to their work. Junction Magazine is a volunteer operated publication. We are unable to compensate contributors financially.
